Philanthropy

GRACE THROUGH SELFLESS SERVICE

In 1972, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj established an international non-profit charitable organisation known as Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP), which was previously known as Sadhana Bhavan Trust. The organisation and its affiliates carry out a large number of philanthropic activities throughout the year in various locations in India and abroad.

Originally running under the divine guidance and vision of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat now operates under the outstanding leadership of his three learned daughters:

The three of them are Co-Presidents of the organisation, leading significant charitable projects and activities.

In the past several decades, the organisation has carried out various capacity-building initiatives to deliver high-impact and sustainable philanthropic activities.

In 2023 alone, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat conducted philanthropic projects that impacted the lives of more than 100,000 impoverished families and the charitable hospitals have provided high-quality healthcare to more than 700,000 patients.

Free Education

One of the key focus areas for Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj’s charitable initiatives has been girls’ education. There are significant challenges for impoverished girls in rural areas of north India – they have limited access to quality and affordable education.

Keeping this in mind, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj set up 100% free educational institutes, known as Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education, to provide comprehensive and quality education to girls from primary up until graduation and post graduation.

More than 50,000 girls and women have received quality education from his educational institutes. In addition, all students are provided with free uniforms, stationeries, books and sundries, keeping in mind their families’ economic status.

Three Fully Charitable Hospitals

Access to primary healthcare is a major challenge for lower income families in the remote parts of North India. They struggle to access basic healthcare and often have to travel long distances for consultations, diagnostics and medications.

Seeing the plight of these lower income communities, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj decided to set-up three fully charitable hospitals (Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya) in Shri Kripalu Dham Mangarh, Shri Vrindavan Dham and Shri Barsana Dham respectively.

All the three charitable hospitals are multi-specialty hospitals with modern medical equipment and state-of-the-art technology.

The hospitals offer free consultation and diagnosis, free treatment (including free surgery), free medication and free follow up consultations. Since the inception of the hospitals, more than 5 million people have been provided with free healthcare services.

Important medical camps are conducted at regular intervals in all three hospitals. Senior doctors and heart specialists from leading hospital groups such as Apollo Hospitals, organise heart camps for consultations and to perform minor operations.

There have been more than twenty cataracts removal camps and blood donation camps organised and forty naturopathy and yoga camps. In addition, community awareness and educational sessions are conducted on important medical issues such as heart disease prevention and how to enhance one’s overall health and well-being.

Other Charitable Activities

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj instituted various charitable activities to support families from the most vulnerable and underprivileged sections of society. The charitable programmes that are organised on a regular basis in all 3 ashrams – Shri Kripalu Dham Mangarh, Shri Vrindavan Dham and Shri Barsana Dham, continue till date. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj has initiated large-scale donation drives where key essential items are provided to the economically disadvantaged sections of the society. These include blankets in winters, and household items of daily need such as cooking utensils, buckets, etc. In addition, there are donation drives organised for sadhus (wandering ascetics), vidhwas (abandoned widows) and school students. Along with the daily/essential items and food, monetary donations are also provided.

Some of the other key programmes are listed below:

Free Distribution Programmes

The charitable programmes organised by Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat are aligned with the Government’s initiatives. This ensures that the charitable funds are utilised in the most effective manner towards high-impact programmes. For example, we have supported the Mahila Gramodyog Samiti (small-scale cottage industry for women) and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (improving rural sanitation).

During national calamities in India such as floods and earthquakes – Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat actively contributes to the Indian Government’s National Relief Funds through financial donations as well as capacity-building programmes to support the Government’s efforts.

Hundreds of thousands have benefitted from these programs over the years and continue to do so.
